About Beyond Six Weeks

The early days of parenthood are full of change, learning, and adjustment. Unfortunately,  meaningful support often ends far too soon.

Beyond Six Weeks was created to bridge that gap, offering families continued guidance beyond the traditional postpartum period and into the months and years that follow.

Because support shouldn’t stop at six weeks: you should feel cared for during your whole postpartum journey!

About Me

Hi, I’m Barbara! It’s so nice to meet you!

I’m a maternal and child health professional with a background in midwifery, public health, physical therapy, and hands-on support for families during pregnancy, birth, and especially the postpartum period.

Throughout my training and clinical experience, I had the opportunity to walk alongside families during one of the most transformative times in their lives. While I saw the depth of care provided during pregnancy and birth, I also saw how quickly that support faded once baby was born.

It wasn’t until I experienced postpartum myself that I truly understood the depth of that gap and the urgent need for support that extends far beyond the time families are typically discharged. That experience shaped my mission: to support families by providing evidence-based education and thoughtful care throughout the early years of parenthood.

Besides being the founder of Beyond Six Weeks, I am a mom (or “mamãe”) to two amazing little boys who keep me on my toes, and I’m supported by a loving husband and a very needy cat. Originally from Brazil, I’ve always valued connection, community, and the importance of having a strong support system during life’s transitions. Outside of my work, I love traveling, learning about new cultures, reading a good (and sometimes very sugary) romance, and spending time with friends over coffee and long conversations about life.

It would be an honor to meet you and to support you and your family!
